What is the difference between Male and Female Crabs?
It is easy to tell the difference between male and female blue crabs. Male crabs, also called Jimmies have a T-shaped on the back of their shell, while female blue crabs, commonly referred to sooks have a wide apron. Males have a long, thin apron on the bottom of their shell, commonly known as the “Washington Monument.” They also have blue-tipped claws.
